It is my long held belief  that carpentry is the most rewarding of all trades to work in. I don't mean this from a monetary point of view , but from a job satisfaction point of view it has to be. General carpentry work within the construction industry may not be the most exciting work to carry out, but there is still a sense of achievement on completion of a project or elements of a building.
In Ireland we serve our apprenticeship as a combined carpenter & joiner , whereas in other countries these would be seen as two separate trades.
I have been lucky to work on a diverse range of jobs over my years as a carpenter, but my favourite projects have always been one off internal joinery pieces.
In recent years flat pack and modular furniture that can be bought quite cheaply have dominated the market, but there has always been a need for made to measure pieces to fit a particular style of house or awkward shaped room .
A couple of years I was contacted by a lady who had an exact idea of what she wanted in size ,style and colour . She wanted a tall corner display unit,  a large  ,wall mounted wine rack, and a large bookcase to fit neatly in a bedroom.
Theses are the pictures of what I produced.
